I also find this really frustrating, it would be much better to have the option to tick/untick a contact for a child

Sometimes we need to send messages to only P2 contact, unfortunately the system only allows you to send to P1, or both P1 & P2, with no option for just P2. Hopefully this will be an option in the near future.
